The EGZ theorem and some generalizations

A theorem of Erdos, Ginzburg and Ziv which appeared
in 1961, may be said to be a corner-stone of the
the area of zero-sum problems in Combinatorial
Number Theory. There are many proofs of
this result today and several directions
of generalizations have emerged. After giving
sketches of few proofs of the theorem we proceed
to discuss some of these generalizations and mention
some open questions.
